A closer look at the targeted updates that reduced day‑to‑day friction in clinics
By James Daniell, Associate Director of Product Management
In 2025, Accuro focused on something clinics feel every day: friction. Whether it’s extra clicks, unclear workflows, or manual steps that quietly add up, small inefficiencies have a big impact over time.
Rather than introducing a single sweeping change, the past year was about targeted, high-impact improvements designed to reduce effort where you work the most, creating a smoother experience for providers, staff, and patients.
Read my article below on these updates, or watch this short video created by our marketing team summarizing the changes. Watch the video.
Here’s a look at the Accuro updates that made the biggest difference across clinics in 2025.

Provider Workflow & Efficiency
CPP Flex Panel
One of our favourite enhancements in 2025 was the introduction of the CPP Flex Panel, giving providers more control over how patient information is displayed during an encounter.
The Flex Panel lets providers drag information from areas like Medical History or Labs directly into an encounter note. This allows you to add up-to-date details instantly, without leaving the note and regardless of which template you’re using.
Adoption of this feature was immediate; Thousands of drag-and-drop actions occur every day, making the CPP Flex Panel a natural contributor to faster, more effective Encounter Notes.
Encounter Notes: Targeted Improvements
Alongside the Flex Panel, several long-requested enhancements improved Encounter Notes:
- Favourite templates make commonly used templates easily accessible. This works alongside the existing hidden-template feature, keeping lists organized without sacrificing speed.
- Pinnable notes and forms keep important information visible during an encounter, reducing the need to reopen or navigate back and forth between documents.
- Search fields in the Form Editor and Template Wizard make it easier to find the right form or template when lists grow long.
All these changes reduce the searching, scrolling, and clicking that quietly accumulates throughout the day, without changing your documentation routine.
AI and Integrations: Consolidated Support for Providers and Staff
For providers, Accuro AI Scribe launched to a small group of select clinics as a documentation experience that works directly in your Encounter Notes, rather than as a separate platform. In parallel, Accuro expanded integrations with several of Canada’s most widely used AI scribe tools.
These integrations securely match AI-generated documentation to the correct Accuro patient, reducing the risk of notes being added to the wrong chart.
AI-powered patient intake also began supporting earlier documentation, enabling providers to draft notes in advance based on new information being shared by the patient.
For office staff, AI-powered task automation and document handling reduced manual sorting, routing, and follow-up work. Clinics can configure these automations to match their own workflows, deciding when tasks should be handled automatically and when human review is required. As a result, staff spend less time managing routine administrative work and more time focusing on exceptions and patient interactions. This creates faster turnaround times, fewer bottlenecks, and reduces day-to-day pressure on front-office teams.
Accuro integrations and AI capabilities remain a key focus in 2026.
Clinic Efficiency
Alongside our provider improvements, we focused in 2025 on reducing administrative overhead for clinic staff and administrators.
Expanded License Management
Improvements to license management in Accuro Admin Centre give clinic administrators real-time access to manage their existing setup, assign and adjust licenses, and manage users as their teams evolve.
Drag-and-Drop Appointment Rescheduling
Once enabled, drag-and-drop appointment rescheduling allows appointments to be moved with a simple click-hold-drag.
This small change has had a measurable effect. Clinics perform roughly 30,000 appointment-drag actions every week, with some users saving up to 500 clicks per day. That is nearly an hour of time saved each week simply by reducing manual rescheduling steps.
It’s a clear example of how small improvements, repeated hundreds of times a day, can add up to meaningful time savings.
Patient Experience
For clinics subscribed to Accuro Engage, dependent profiles make it easier for families and caregivers to manage care—especially when booking appointments for children and other dependents—while reducing manual work for clinic staff. Clinics that support family or caregiver bookings often see immediate workflow benefits.
These enhancements build on the broader patient experience available through Medeo Patient, Accuro’s secure patient-facing app. Medeo Patient supports patient messaging, online booking, video visits, appointment notifications, and more.
Together, these tools enable more collaborative care, from shared message threads and group video visits to booking on behalf of dependents and staying informed through timely, automated notifications.
Platform Improvements
A system-wide visual refresh introduced a more modern and consistent look across Accuro without changing familiar workflows. Updates included refined buttons, fields, typography, and layouts, as well as functional improvements like the collapsible menu and font resizing.
These functional and aesthetic benefits are smaller pieces of a much larger plan. The visual refresh provides our development team new design infrastructure that allows us to modernize and innovate across Accuro for years to come, and to further streamline the workflows you use most. You’ll see these benefits throughout 2026.
Looking Ahead
In 2025 we delivered meaningful improvements at every level, from how providers document to how clinics operate and patients engage. That focus continues in 2026 as Accuro continues to evolve its foundation, identifying moments in the day where friction must be reduced to give time back to patient care.
Thank you for your feedback, your partnership, and your role in shaping where Accuro goes next.
